Marketing & Content Creation Intern

About the Job
Marketing & Content Creation Intern — Cross Creek Landscape Design + Build Coeur d'Alene, ID | Unpaid | College Credit | Part-Time (15–20 hrs/week)

Who We Are

Cross Creek Landscape Design + Build exists because Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.

What started with one man, a cold bathroom floor, and a surrendered heart has grown into a $2.5 million luxury landscape design and build firm serving North Idaho and beyond. But growth was never the goal. Bringing heaven to earth was.

We don't just build outdoor living spaces. We build them as an act of worship — designing environments where families rest, reconnect, and experience something beautiful. Every project, every decision, every hire flows from our obedience to Christ. We take Colossians 3:23 seriously:

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters."

This isn't a company that happens to have Christian owners. This is a ministry that designs and builds.

The Role

If you've been praying about where to invest your time, your talent, and your season of life — read carefully.

We're looking for a Marketing & Content Creation Intern who is creative, self-motivated, and ready to use their gifts in a place that actually stands for something. You'll capture the beauty of what we build, tell the story of who we are, and help grow our presence on Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube — platforms where we believe God can use authentic storytelling to reach real people.

You'll work directly with our founder, Randy McCabe. This role will stretch you, develop you, and give you real-world experience in a company where the mission is not a tagline — it's the reason we show up.

What You'll Do

  • Visit job sites and company events to film and photograph our work and our team
  • Create and edit short-form video content and static posts for Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube
  • Manage a weekly content calendar and post consistently across platforms
  • Attend one weekly check-in meeting with Randy (virtual or in-person)
  • Receive assigned tasks and execute them independently — you'll be expected to own your work, ask clarifying questions when needed, and deliver without being chased down
  • Bring creative ideas and a genuine voice to everything you post
This role rewards self-starters. You will be given direction, assigned tasks, and trusted to carry them out. If you need hand-holding to complete basic responsibilities, this isn't the right fit. If you thrive when given ownership and love checking things off a list — welcome home.

What We're Looking For

  • A local student in the Coeur d'Alene / North Idaho area
  • Currently enrolled in a college or university program offering internship or practicum credit
  • Comfortable behind a camera and capable of editing video content
  • Familiar with Instagram and Facebook — bonus points for YouTube Shorts or TikTok-style content
  • Someone whose faith is not just part of their life, but the foundation of it
  • A person of integrity who does what they say they'll do
  • Aligned with our mission: loving people like Jesus, building things worth being proud of
What You'll Gain

  • College credit (we'll partner with your program coordinator to make it official)
  • A professional portfolio of real content from a growing, values-driven company
  • Direct mentorship from a founder who built something meaningful from nothing
  • Experience managing social media for a brand with a clear identity and a Kingdom mission
  • The chance to use your creativity as an act of service — and maybe even worship
Details

  • Location: Coeur d'Alene, ID — on-site content capture is required; some flexibility for remote work
  • Hours: 15–20 hours per week, flexible scheduling
  • Compensation: Unpaid — college credit eligible
  • Reports to: Randy McCabe, Founder & Owner
Application Questions

Please answer all of the following questions in your application. Be honest. Be yourself. We're not looking for the "right" answer — we're looking for the real one.

  1. What is the most important thing in your life, and why?
  2. Describe your experience with content creation — what platforms have you used, what have you created, and what does your best work look like? Include links or examples if you have them.
  3. Have you managed social media for a business, organization, club, or ministry before? If so, describe what you did and what results you saw.
  4. What equipment do you currently have access to for filming and editing content? (Phone, camera, laptop, editing software, etc.)
  5. Tell us about a time you were given a task or project and had to complete it largely on your own. What did you do, and what was the outcome?
  6. What is your current school, program of study, and expected graduation date? Has your program confirmed that this internship would qualify for academic credit?
  7. Why Cross Creek? Not the experience, not the resume line — why this company, this mission, at this season of your life? Make your case. We want to know what God is doing in you right now and why you believe this internship is part of it.
To Apply

Send your answers to the application questions above, along with 2–3 examples of content you've created, to office@crosscreek.studio

We read every application. We pray over every hire. If this is where God is calling you, don't wait.

About Cross Creek Landscape Design & Build
Cross Creek started with a promise made on a cold bathroom floor - a commitment to follow Jesus wherever He led, even when the path seemed impossible. What began as one man knocking on doors in Coeur d'Alene with nothing but faith and a borrowed trailer has grown into a $2.5 million luxury landscape design and build firm with offices in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho and Spokane, Washington, and plans to expand further.
But growth was never the goal. Bringing heaven to earth was.
We exist because Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. He rescued our founder from darkness and gave him a vision - not just for a business, but for a life surrendered to obedience. Every project we take on, every client we serve, every decision we make flows from that surrender. This isn't a company that happens to have Christian owners. This is a ministry that designs and builds outdoor living spaces.
Today, we transform luxury landscapes along lakefronts and golf courses throughout North Idaho and Eastern Washington, creating places where families gather, memories form, and heaven touches earth. Our work includes custom hardscaping, outdoor kitchens, water features, and complete landscape installations.
We're not the biggest firm. We're not trying to be. We're trying to be faithful - to Jesus, to our clients, to our team, and to the craft itself.
That means excellence without compromise. Premium materials and craftsmanship. Designs that marry beauty with function. Installations that last generations. But it also means something deeper: treating every project as an act of worship, every client interaction as ministry, and every team member as family bought by the blood of Christ.
Our field crews work four 10-hour days, Monday through Thursday, because we respect the physical demands of the work they do. Our office team works Monday through Friday, 9-5. Sundays are sacred. We believe you can build something exceptional without sacrificing everything else that matters.
We're looking for people who see this work the way we do - not just as a job, but as a calling. People who take pride in their craft. Who show up with integrity. Who understand that putting their trust and hope in Jesus Christ means obeying Him in all things - including how we work, how we treat people, and how we build.
If that resonates, we'd love to talk.

Mission: To follow Jesus, and design some very cool stuff along the way.

Purpose: Cross Creek Landscape exists to bring Heaven to Earth NOW.

Vision: Build a community where everyone has a beautiful and safe place to call home.

Our Values:

Fervently love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength
Love our neighbors as ourselves
Keep the commandments of God
Carry each other's burdens
Worship the Lord alone
Protect each other with prayer
Command the enemy to flee - he is not welcome here
when you see a need -> Help. Period.
